2004 you are out the door

So far I'm just hanging out listening to my wife work. I was watching the news and drinking my coffee. I notice how nice it is to have several different outlets to get the news on TV.
We all know CNN, Local news etc. I was scanning all the news channels getting as much info as I can on different news stories in one moment.
The national news is the earthquake in Tusami. Terrible news many people are missing or have died. Thats all I know.
In Dallas, there was a police chase early this morning and it ended peacefully, plus a hit and run and the person who hit and ran, returned to the scene. Those were the major traffice stories in Dallas.
In Austin, I was actually watching a live Austin morning news show on TXCN. The main story were of an apartment fire which damaged a whole building about 18 units. The second story was of a 8-yr old girl who was mauled by five dogs earlier this week. Well, the family is pleading for the capture of two of the five dogs. Two dogs are on the loose and the family wants them caught. The 8 yr old is in ICU. (tv showed a picture of her)
On the Spanish channel, the segment was showing men and women dressed in the latest fashion for the new year. They were modeling the new colors and styles. For men, the designer said stripes of any color and width are going to be in for dress shirts. Pink and Purple are the colors for 2005. I laughed because the models some of them looked White/Anglo. The Spanish hostess asked the models to turn around once more for the camera. The models would not turn and the hostess said they don't understand me. (laugh u had to be there)
I am not sure what I will be doing today. Work has slowed down some because of the holiday. I am waiting on a call from sales rep on an install other than that i will need to keep myself busy on some development or training.

When I was younger, like in my teen i enjoyed this time of the year. I always took this time away from my school friends to re-evalute myself. What did I want to do when I got back to school?? Who did I want to hang out with?? What classes did I want to improve in?? I just thought of things in my head, nothing really documented. I also enjoyed looking forward to the shows on the radio or television which gave a countdown of the hits of the year or the last 25 yrs. The news stories of the last year were a big hit with me.
Its very hard to enjoy times like that , we have to keep up with today and get better for tomorrow. Thats is the reality of our lives now.
So here is my shot at good times or memoriable moments in 2004. Not in this particular order.
Spending time with Canadians in Leesburg during a weeks training. Lets just say that was the time I discovered Vodka and Purple Gatorade are good together.
San Antonio with my wife and daughter. During Memorial weekend. Spent lots of time at SeaWorld and downtonw S.A.
Seeing my cousins Rock and Ted. Just talking to them. Although it was not in good terms for one of them.
Buying my new to me golf clubs. Callaway Irons and Drivers.
Getting better at my job, improving and getting recognized for it.
Red Sox winning the World Series. I'm not a Sox fan, but it was neat seeing them beat The Curse.
Entertaining my family at Christmas.
Of course finding out we are having another baby.


If I think of other junk I will update this page.
