Should we be flying by now

I remember a conversation I had once with some co-workers coming back from lunch. It was about 9 years ago during this time of the year. We were all in a car driving into Las Colinas from Mercardo Juarez. One of the girls said she was really disappointed with life. That kinda caught us off guard, I asked what do you mean? She said look at us we are still driving around in cars. She said We should be flying instead of driving. That made everyone laugh, but it also brought up a good point. And our conversation continued on with how much movies in the 50's and such portrayed the future of humans on earth. Like should be be wearing silver body suits, or taking a pill that gives us all the nutrients our body needs. I remember thinking about how we could all wear goggles and be taken to where ever our minds wanted to go??? I know there is a car that flys. I read about it in the newspaper and it was displayed at the State Fair a couple of years ago( I never got to see it). From what I remember the car used GPS to get from one place to other. You would enter the coordinates of your destination and it would take you there. You did not have to stear it either, the car can take off or land in a drive way. Here is a link to the website of the SkyCar. http://www.moller.com/skycar/

What will we be in 20 or 30 years. What will we be able to do, Do you think we will ever be able to share thoughts without speaking?? I think that would be cool, kinda like everyone having blue tooth technology built into their brain. We would walk near someone and read their thoughts. We would be able to block thoughts of course just like we block caller Id. You know we need security. If we did ever have to wear silver suits do think Tommy Hilfiger or Ralph Lauren could design some that would look good? What if I got a hole in my suit what would happen then?

The conversation although short, still stays with me for some reason. I guess because of the question When will be able to fly. Janice hopefully we can see it in our lifetime.

Another big question I have is about time. I asked a mentor this once.
If time seems faster as I get older, how much faster is it to you than me. How much shorter are the days for you (an older person) than for me?

His answer was relative to past and future tense. He said when you are young you do not have a big reference to the past, so your mind does not reference the past. As you get older you gain a lot of history and your mind easily can compare the now to the past. the older you get the more your mind looks at the past for reference. I hope this makes sense, because I do not remember word for word what he told me. There is a book, I heard of on KERA radio that speaks about this one topic (Time). I hope to read it someday.

I just read a quote from my wife's calendar as I turned the date to today. I like, its something good to believe. So believe it when you read it.

"I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be" Douglas Adams

Gifts to GO

This morning our schedule went a little smoother than yesterday.
My daughter didn't insist on watching another DVD or show on TV prior to getting out the door.
I still have to wrap two gifts. My mother's, who is in AZ for the holidays. She wanted dish towels and some Oil of Olay. I finally got around 2 getting her dish towels. I had them embroided with her initials. I must say this was very costly. I could not believe how expensive it was just to put initials on dish towels. Can you believe it cost at one place $15 an item, just to get two initials sewed on the towels. I called a another location same company and they said they would work with me on the price. I payed $27 to get the initials sewed on six towels. Thats more than the towels cost. At least its for my mother.
The other gift is a pull over sweater, we forgot to wrap it and give it to my nephew on Christmas Day. It was lost with the boxes in our spare room. My nephew was not at the party so we forgot that we forgot to wrap it.

I am taking the gifts to my mother's house where they will be taken to AZ via MexicanVan lines.
We got a chance to see some really cool out door Xmas decorations last night. My Mother- in- law called around 6pm and said we just had to take our daughter right now.
We had our doubts on whether this was worth getting out of our normal evening routine .

Much to our surprise this turned out to be a pretty good display. This house had 6 big wooden boxes, I would guess 5ft tall and 6ft wide. Each box contained a scene with mechanical moving parts. It was amazing. My daughter had a good time and my Mother- in- Law was right, this is a must see Xmas display of lights. The compelling thing that made my Mother-in-Law get us out of the house was a sign which stated "This year will be the last year for the display boxes" Although the sign appeared worn as if it had been placed on the box the previous year. It could have been worn from being outside during this seasons snow fall. Enjoy the pictures !

This house is in Plano,TX on Northcrest Street. ( I think)

Thats all there is to That.

Close up of Xmas village. Every item is a moving part in the village. Posted by Hello

This Santa is feeding a young reindeer. The reindeer's head would move and Santa hand would pat the deer. Posted by Hello

Here a Mimi and her granddaughter are having a walk in through the display. Again everything you see is either singing or is a moving part. Posted by Hello

Here is another shot of the same box. Every part is moving even the small figures which are part of this little village. Posted by Hello
